‘999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors’ sequel slated for NA release
A snippet from the latest issue of Nintendo Power reveals that Aksys will be publishing Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die, the direct sequel to the hit 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors, on the 3DS by the end of the year. Back in December the company mentioned a mystery game slated for a fall 2012 release, and this very well could be it. The fact the announcement appeared in a Nintendo magazine suggests that we may only be getting the 3DS version and not the PS Vita version as well, but as we’ve not received an official press release from Aksys, it’s too early to say for sure.
Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die features some new faces while still being directly linked to the events of 999. For some reason, another Zero has started up the Nonary game once again. The sequel has a whopping 24 endings, as well as both easy and hard difficulties for those who may not want to spend so much time struggling over the game’s many puzzles. As a whole, the game looks much more fleshed out and should prove to be even longer than 999, something that fans of the original visual novel puzzler will be happy to hear.
Hopefully an official press release from Aksys will come in the next few days to answer some of our questions and confirm the game’s localization. With Hakuoki‘s recent release and this on their plate, it’s great to see a western publisher openly picking up more text-based titles.
