Catch up with ‘The Witcher’ story trailer before diving into ‘The Witcher 2′ this April

CD Projekt RED answered the prayers of console gamers everywhere confirming that their epic RPG, The Witcher 2, would be available on Xbox 360 as well as PC. With the release a matter of days away, some of you may be thinking “Hey! I didn’t play The Witcher! How will I know what’s going on?” Worry not, as the folks behind the game have released a shiny new trailer that will fill you in on the events of the first game.

If you didn’t get the chance to play the first installment, the trailer gives you a pretty good idea of the dark, mature storyline for which the series is known. The trailer does a pretty good job of hitting the major plot points and essential characters, ensuring you won’t go into the game completely blind.  If you want to take it a step further, you can also read The Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski, which, while not directly related to the game, will offer some pretty awesome insight into Geralt of Rivia.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is currently available on PC, and will be released April 17, 2012 for Xbox 360.
