‘Dead or Alive 5′ tries to shift focus to “real women”
The Dead or Alive franchise is notorious for playing host to female characters with anatomical attributes that would make the most voluptuous of adult film stars envious, but according to a new interview, it seems as though Team Ninja might be taking a different route with the upcoming Dead or Alive 5.
According to a recent Gamasutra interview with Yosuke Hayashi, head of Tecmo development at Team Ninja, the next iteration of the Dead or Alive series looks to go about things in a bit more realistic manner. “We’ve always had the sex factor in the game; in the past, the female characters had to have big breasts, they had to have scanty dress,” Hayashi said. “In [Dead or Alive] 5 especially, we’re trying to focus on the real women that surround us; the voice of a female, the mannerisms. We are being realistic about it.”
The important question remains, however: will this game still feature the “cheat” that allows for users to set their age at “99 years old” for maximum jiggles? Dead or Alive 5 was announced in September of last year, and will see its first demo packed into copies of the upcoming Ninja Gaiden 3. The title is currently set to release in late 2012.

I think it’s good that they are trying to focus more on the *cough* ‘real women’ rather than the breasts, but then again Team Ninja was responsible for Metroid: Other M. So you know… it’s likely to result in a horrible train wreck of breast implants and whiny female ‘characters’.
