Nintendo has a tendency to be somewhat vague about their release schedule, so more concrete dates are always welcome. Today, they finally announced concrete dates for a number of highly-anticipated titles, along with a number of unfortunate delays of what were supposed to be Wii U launch window titles.
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, a game Nintendo has been giving a vague “spring 2013″ release date for for a while, is perhaps the most exciting announcement of the bunch. 3DS owners looking forward to the sequel of the GameCube launch title can finally mark their calendars for March 24th. In fact, 3DS owners will be getting not one, but two first-party exclusives on March 24th, as the latest Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, will be coming out on the same day.
Monster Hunter fans will be happy to hear that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be heading to both the Wii U and 3DS on March 19th. LEGO City Undercover will hit the Wii U on March 18th and the 3DS on April 21st, and The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will round out the March releases with a Wii U release on March 26th. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers will be making its way to the 3DS on April 16th.
In less happy news, a number of big name Wii U titles such as Pikmin 3, Wii U Fit, Game & Wario, and Wonderful 101 have been pushed back to undisclosed dates in the first half of 2013. This means they will likely be scheduled for sometime between May-July, and not within the Wii U launch window as originally promised by Nintendo. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is nowhere to be found on Nintendo’s updated list of release dates, perhaps indicating a worrisome delay to the second half of this year.
