So, you know how a lot of games get released on consoles first these days, and PC gamers have to wait a few months for their version to release?
Not that we’re bitter, or anything.
The opposite is true for Painkiller: Hell and Damnation, which came out for PC this past October but still hasn’t made the jump to PS3 and Xbox. That wait got a lot longer today, though, with news that the game was pushed back from Jan. 22 to April 5.
Painkiller: Hell and Damnation is both a remake and sequel to the original supernatural first-person shooter Painkiller, released back in 2004. Publisher Nordic Games said developers over at The Farm 51 have been working around the clock to get the game ready.
“There has been a slight delay so that the console communities can enjoy the fiendishly ghoulish experience that we know they want and deserve,” said Reinhard Pollice with Nordic Games in a press release. “In taking this additional time to add the final touches, we know that players will realise that the best things do come to those who wait!”
The game will be available in standard edition for $29.99, or a collector’s edition priced $10 more.

In this instance it feels a lot more like console gamers getting spared from having to experience the letdown this was.
