Ubisoft has just announced that they’ve secured the rights to “Gangnam Style” and will be releasing it as DLC for Just Dance 4 this November. Though a concrete date and pricing has not been revealed, they say it will be similar in price to previous Just Dance DLC songs. In case you’ve forgotten the unarguably catchy tune, here it is:
Psy apparently had this to say about the development: “‘Gangnam Style’ and Just Dance 4, I can’t wait to see all the YouTube videos.”
If you’ve turned on the TV, radio, or left your house to get groceries in the last month, you’ve probably heard the smash-hit South Korean song “Gangnam Style.” Rapper Psy’s official music video has close to 500 million views on YouTube and is the most-viewed video in the history of the website, with countless meme parodies and flash mob imitations popping up faster than you can say “one-hit wonder” (yes, there’s even a Mario version).
Just Dance 4 released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii on October 9th in North America, and October 2nd in Europe. A Wii U version is currently in development, and is scheduled to launch alongside the system on November 18th in North America and November 30th in Europe and Australia. Perhaps Ubisoft will offer download codes for “Gangnam Style” with the Wii U version as a buying incentive? It’s unlikely, but we can hope!

Hi Anne Lee,
typo in the article: Xbox 260 should be Xbox 360
Cheers
Whoops! Thanks for pointing it out
I hope that “secures rights” doesn’t mean “secures *exclusive* rights”. I would really prefer to see this in Dance Central 3 as I prefer it over the Just Dance series.
Good question. I’m under the impression there isn’t any overlap with the songs between Just Dance and Dance Central, but perhaps I’m wrong? I imagine Ubisoft would really want to get exclusive rights, especially in this case
With this, Call Me Maybe, The Final Countdown, Wild Wild West and Never Gonna Give You Up I gues I don’t have a choice but to buy this God forsaken game. But the Bieber and One Direction songs make me doubt it.
